Early Christmas Gift!

Madeline has always loved going into Libbi Lu. So I thought I would go there and buy her some stuff for Christmas. I found out while I was there that they were going out of business in January (all of them). I decided to get Madeline an early Christmas gift, and take her there for a Libbi Du! They do there makeup, nails, hair, and use lots of glitter! She loved it! What a little girls dream!

Updates!

Well I'm back after a lot of chaos, drama, and of course the busy holidays! Well I am going to sum it all up since I have a trillion posts to do over the next week.

My kids were both sick nonstop over the last couple of months! They missed a month and a half of MDO! Madeline along with the whole family got Gastroenteritis. That includes several days of vomiting, diarrhea, body aches and no appetite. It is good for those few pounds you might want to lose. LOL. We all got through it fine without complications except for Madeline. She ended up throwing up bile, getting dehydrated, and wasn't able to stand on her legs because they were hurting so bad. I called the ER and they said there was an 8 hour wait! So Mike & I called our friend who is an ER doctor (he lives down the street) to help us out! We put her on Zofran, tried to give her lots of fluids, and Tylenol for the aches and pain. It worked but was a very long process! So after she recovered from that she developed Croup! Nice, here we go again. Can't we all just be healthy? No we can't, so Pierson seemed to get sick again, and then it was on to the next illness. Pneumonia! Madeline then was treated for Pneumonia and so once again we all got sick! This went on forever! So finally after all this, Pierson decides to sleep 19 hour stretches at night and so I would have to eventually wake him up. He did this for 2 weeks! I called my Pedi, and she told me to bring him in for tests. So we made a trip up there for blood work, then we were sent to the Lab across the street for an arterial stick and more tests. Which was awful. Three of us had to hold him down while he fought and screamed, and then after that we had to go to the hospital for xrays! That wasn't much better. The conclusion was nothing, he just likes to sleep. A few days later he is still sleeping that much and woke up and couldn't stand on his legs for about 45 minutes or so! That freaked me out, even though he had just woke up from a nap, and I thought maybe his legs were asleep! So I called the doctor a couple of days later seeing that it was Christmas Eve. SO she sent us to the ER, and I was there for 5 hours and they didn't do 1 thing. They said he was perfectly normal. That doesn't seem normal to me, but whatever. Since then his sleeping went back to normal which is still 14-15 hours at night. This winter has not been good to our family! Lets pray we can stay healthy for the remaining part of the winter!

Dinner with the Family!

Last night we went out to dinner with the family to celebrate my dad's birthday! We went to the Cheesecake Factory which is one of my favorite places to go. It was quite entertaining with my kids. Pierson was extremely moody. It was past his bedtime, and he was not happy! Madeline was singing to us and trying to help Pierson calm down!

The Family

Here was a happy moment caught on camera.

And here is where it all began! Look at that expression!

Singing Happy Birthday to my dad!

And now the crying begins!

So Madeline stands up and starts singing him some songs!

A few songs performed by big sis, and some whip cream did the trick!

Madeline is starting a new trend with sunglasses upside down!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad!
I hope you have a wonderful day, and I can't wait until dinner tonight! You know how much I love the Cheesecake Factory! Thank you so much for all you do for us, and thank you for always making sure we were taken care of growing up. I always knew that you would be able to provide for us and give us the important things we needed to make it on our own, and some extra added perks (cars!!!) Hey I earned those cars, right dad! I think I might go back to school and get my masters, does the offer still stand? JUST KIDDING!
I LOVE YOU!

Pictures with Santa......Where do I start?

On Saturday, we decided it would be fun to do some Christmas shopping, and take the kids to see Santa! Madeline had already made a trip to see Santa and his reindeer, a few weeks ago with my mom and I. That went as smooth as it could possibly go! But Saturday, was a whole different story. Our neighborhood had pictures with Santa, so we thought we would stop off and see how it goes. First, I had Madeline take a picture with Santa and as I expected, it went just as perfect as the last trip or so I thought! Next, it was time to add Pierson to the picture, oh boy was he not having anything to do with that. So I thought surely if I can get him calmed down and we were to do a family picture with Mike holding him, he will be just fine! Oh no, he was trying to figure out how to get out of there, and even turned around to avoid getting his picture taken. I finally said "I really need a picture with just Pierson and Santa, so he will just have to work it out!" Well he showed everyone that he was not liking Santa or having anything to do with him. And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Madeline looks at me and says" I thought there was only one Santa Clause?" I said "What do you mean?" and she said "Daddy said there was only one Santa Clause." I said " Ok, well there is only one Santa." and then she looked at me and said " There has to be two Santa Clauses because this Santa sounds different than the other Santa I saw with you & Mimi!" Oh my goodness, why does she have to be so smart! The only thing I could come up with quickly, while she stared at me and waited for a response is "Santa is probably sick and just has a sore throat or something!" That is the best you could do Tiffany, I mean seriously! I have always known that Santa has helpers, but Mike said "stick to my story". I don't know what kind of childhood he had with Santa, but everyone knows that Santa has helpers. So, Madeline is still trying to figure out how one Santa can be everywhere. And the questions keep on coming! So I just keep saying "ask your daddy", but that ends up making things worse! Madeline says the funniest things, she is so smart, and she has the biggest imagination! I just can't think quick enough!

And pictures Saturday........

I am sure all of you have some hilarious stories that involve your children so please share, I would love to hear them!

Thanksgiving 2008

This Thanksgiving we did our traditional celebration with all of our family! We had some extra family members join us this year (Mike's mom, Mike's sister & her kids)! We held the celebration at our house. Everyone brought some food, and we even rented a bounce house for the kids! Of course football was included in this day. Not only did we watch the Cowboys, but we had our very own football game right out on the street! The guys really got into it, well some of them did more than others (Mike)! I swear Mike thinks he is still a teenager. He was challenging his 17 year old nephew, Jared, to a race! Of course I have included documentation of this event! Well you know how guys are, there always has to be something at stake. Well the loser had to jump in our pool with only shorts on, and let me tell you the water is freezing! Scroll down to see who won! By the way the family pic above was the best of the bunch! Not so good! It is so hard to focus on the camera, get 2 kids to look at the camera, get them to stop picking there nose, and then everybody smile!

*I have so many things to be thankful for, and this year I failed to write out my list, but here are just a few things I am thankful for.

I am thankful for....

1.My husband Mike- he is a hard worker, loving husband, and a wonderful father! He is so supportive, and really strives to be the best Godly man he can be! I thank God for his values and beliefs, and his faith is so strong that it inspires people to be better!

2. Madeline- she makes me laugh everyday. She is such a smart girl, and she has such a sweet spirit about her! I even think her sassy attitude is cute AT TIMES!

3. Pierson- He is such an easy baby. So content in every way, and he just melts my heart. Of course he is the most handsome little boy I know!

4. The rest of my family- I love them all so much, and I am so grateful for each one of them. I am grateful to have such supportive parents who love me unconditionally! I am also grateful for my brother, and all the fun memories we share! My sister-in-law who is truly my sister, and best friend! My mother-in-law who has raised the best man I know! And all the cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and grandparents hold a special place in my life! I love you all so much!

5. Being able to be a stay at home mom- It is the absolute hardest job I have ever done, and there are times I question if I am cut out for it, but it is by far the most important job I have ever been given! I thank God & my husband everyday for this opportunity! I wouldn't trade it for the world!

6. God and all that he has done to bless my family! We are beyond blessed in so many ways! Even when we have been through hard phases of our life, we have God to thank for challenging us to find a better life, and teach us to have faith in him!

7. Our church- Although we have not been going on a regular basis. We have the absolute best pastor and church out there! We could not be happier anywhere else!

8. My friends- I am so grateful for the friends I have! Their willingness to listen to me vent, just being there for me no matter what is going on in my life, loving me for who I am, being honest & loyal, and of course going shopping with me! Thank you to all of my friends for truly caring about me!
